Short Term Course on Solid Waste Management, at CED Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram
The Centre has been working in the field of Solid Waste Management (SWM) for the last 16 years and providing support to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to implement Solid Waste Management programs including design, construction engineering support, operation and management. CED is also providing support for capacity building and IEC programs on SWM to ULBs and rural Panchayats. CED is now managing the Solid Waste Processing Plants of Thiruvananthapuram Corporation (300 MT/day capacity) and Kochi Corporation (200 MT/day) in Kerala. The centre has also experience in design and construction of Sanitary Engineered Landfill, Leachate Treatment Plant, RDF Plant, Biomethanation, Slaughter house design, ETP design for fish markets and decentralized waste water treatment. CED is the Centre of Excellence of Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India (GoI) for ‘Solid and Liquid Waste Management’ and is an Accredited Agency of Government of Kerala for ‘Solid Waste Management’. As part of the activities of the Centre of Excellence of MoUD, GoI, CED has initiated a 10 days course on ‘Solid Waste Management’. The second batch of the course starts shortly at CED Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram.
